West Ham fans react to Nikola Vlasic display in Europa League

A number of West Ham United fans have taken to Twitter to comment on Nikola Vlasic after his performance in their Europa League victory over Rapid Vienna.

The Hammers wrapped up top spot in their group with an impressive victory in Austria.

Andriy Yarmolenko and Mark Noble both scored in a five minute period at the end of the first-half.

The result saw them remain unbeaten in the competition with one fixture in the group-stage left.

And it was also a game which saw a couple of players closer to the periphery of the squad stake a claim for more opportunities.

Vlasic was definitely one of those. The Croatia international has not had the easiest time since moving to the London Stadium by any means.

The 24-year-old has only played five times in the Premier League. And he has only started on one occasion in the top flight.

He is still awaiting his first goal for the Hammers. But he most definitely managed to make an impression in Thursday’s game.

It was his cross that was turned in by Yarmolenko five minutes before the interval.

No player produced more key passes while he was on the pitch, . He also completed two successful dribbles.

Of course, it is important Vlasic does not get carried away. Rapid Vienna are on course to finish bottom of the group.

But the fans are certainly hoping that it could be a turning point for him. Several insisted that he was probably West Ham’s best player on another successful evening for David Moyes’s side.
