West Ham fans react on Twitter to Josh Cullen’s cup display
A number of West Ham United fans have taken to Twitter to comment on Josh Cullen’s performance in their Carabao Cup win against Charlton Athletic on Tuesday.
The Hammers had a point to prove following their disappointing start to the Premier League season. And while a cup tie against League One opposition would not lift much of the gloom, it did provide an opportunity for some of those not used against Newcastle to make an impression.

Cullen was one of those to come into the side. The 24-year-old had not played for the Irons since April 2018.
In fact, the game pitted the midfielder against the side who had taken him on loan for the previous two campaigns.

And he proved exactly why he was so highly rated during his time at the Valley.
The Republic of Ireland international was good on the ball. He played an important role in the opening goal, playing a delicious pass over the top for Andriy Yarmolenko.
Yarmolenko subsequently played Sebastien Haller in and the Frenchman bagged the first of his two goals on the night.
And plenty of West Ham fans have expressed their hope that it is not going to be too long before Cullen gets another chance in Moyes’s lineup.
Many are convinced that he could play a role for the Hammers this season. And they are hopeful that he will now come into contention for a league chance.
Here is how some of the fans reacted to Cullen’s performance…

Cullen has been excellent tonight. Doesn’t matter whether his motivation is playing his former team, or to get a first team spot, or playing at his level. His effort has been quality and he’s playing himself into Moyes’ plans.
