West Ham fans react on Twitter to Ben Johnson’s display at Manchester United

A number of West Ham United fans have taken to Twitter to laud Ben Johnson’s performance at Manchester United as the Hammers ensured that they would be playing Premier League football again next season by securing a 1-1 draw.

Admittedly, it had already become incredibly unlikely that David Moyes’s men would go into the final day with any chance of being relegated. Their vastly superior goal difference meant that only a series of freak results would see the Irons go down.

But they did make sure that they secured the point that made it mathematically impossible, with Michail Antonio breaking the deadlock just before the break.

Manchester United asked plenty of questions of the Hammers. But Johnson was part of the backline that largely coped well with Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side.

In fact, many felt that Johnson – who was making only his second Premier League appearance of the season – dealt extremely well with Marcus Rashford.

There were some who felt that the youngster’s distribution needs to be a lot better. They suggested that he misplaced a handful of passes.

However, many lauded the 20-year-old’s display. Several fans took to social media to suggest that he was excellent defensively, and they are extremely excited about his potential.

Here is how some of the supporters reacted to Johnson’s performance…
