West Ham fans react on Twitter as Aaron Cresswell signs new deal
A number of West Ham fans have taken to Twitter to react to that Aaron Cresswell has signed a contract extension – and it appears that the news has completely divided the supporters.
that Cresswell has penned fresh terms set to keep him at the London Stadium until 2023.

The 29-year-old has been a stalwart of the West Ham side since his arrival in 2014. He has previously won Hammer of the Year and is 16 games away from bringing up his double century of appearances for the club.
And he has made a bright start to this campaign. Cresswell scored crucial goals against Manchester United and Bournemouth, with Manuel Pellegrini’s men sat in eighth place heading into the international break.

Fans divided
There are plenty of supporters who believe that the left-back deserves the new deal. He has been an excellent servant, and some are clearly delighted with the announcement.
However, just as many fans seem to be annoyed about the news. Cresswell had struggled to rediscover the form that he showed during his first few years with the Hammers. And those supporters fear that he has been handed fresh terms off the back of two good performances.
Some believe that it is a decision that shows a lack of ambition from the Hammers. And with Cresswell turning 30 before the turn of the year, they fear that it is not a smart decision to hand him a long-term deal.
Here is how some of the fans have reacted to the announcement…
So happy for him ?

A couple of good games under his belt and bang a BRAND NEW CONTRACT.
We never learn.

Love it

are you joking?
— Liam (@liamions)
2 half decent performances and he gets a 4 year contract?? Exlcuding the United and Bournemouth games he’s been a championship standard player for at least 2 years

Absolutely crazy decision. Such a poor left back. Been going downhill for years. West Ham never learn.
— Chris Mills (@Millsy_Official)
Surprised but hope he plays like we know he can
— J D (@Irons_42)
Embarrassing. Yes he’s had a couple of decent performances lately but in the whole he’s been awful. So what you are basically saying is now we are gonna be left with two bang average LBs when that was one area we had to strengthen?♂️

Great news
