West Ham fans react as Leeds United reportedly eye midfielder Josh Cullen

West Ham United midfielder Josh Cullen is impressing in the Championship while on loan at Lee Bowyer’s Charlton Athletic and it has attracted reported interest from Leeds United and other clubs – but Hammers fans are desperate to keep him.

Cullen, 23, joined Charlton in the summer on a season-long loan and he has since become first choice for Bowyer’s men. An ankle injury kept him sidelined for a chunk of Charlton’s campaign, but when fit, Cullen has started all 25 of his league outings.

Premier League sides Bournemouth and Norwich City are interested in signing Cullen, who recently saw his an extension activated in his contract – which now lasts until the summer of 2021.

The report claims Marcelo Bielsa’s Leeds United and Slaven Bilic’s West Brom are also keen, with the two sides likely to promise Premier League football next season – as both sit in the top two of the Championship table.

Cullen was handed his West Ham debut by Bilic in 2015, and that connection could see the Ireland Under-21 midfielder be tempted with a move to the Hawthorns. Leeds United’s style under Bielsa may also prove tantalising.

West Ham fans, though, are desperate to keep Cullen at the London Stadium with many supporters rating the youngster highly. Indeed, the Hammers lack many options in the middle of the park and Cullen could be used as cover.
