West Ham fans react as club reportedly table offer for Gonzalo Montiel
West Ham United have reportedly tabled an offer to sign River Plate right-back Gonzalo Montiel after consistently being linked with the Argentina international – and Hammers fans have reacted on Twitter.
Montiel, 24, has become regarded as one of the best right-backs yet to chance his arm in European football with his performances for River Plate. He has now clocked up 110 appearances for Montiel, and is now an Argentina player.
However, his future looks to be away from River Plate. His contract is due to expire in the summer and that West Ham United have tabled an offer for the defender.

But the Hammers are not alone in their pursuit of the right-back. Lyon, Roma and Bologna are also said to have made proposals to beat West Ham and land Montiel’s signature – but the player’s decision is yet to be made.
West Ham have Vladimir Coufal on the right side of their defence after he joined the club in the summer, while Ryan Fredericks remains the Czech Republic international’s back-up. Montiel is likely to be first choice, should he join.
West Ham supporters have reacted on Twitter to the news that the club have reportedly tabled an offer to lure Montiel to East London – and many believe he would be a good signing for the Hammers.
Would be a great signing

Would seem odd unless we are selling Fredericks

An army couldn’t dethrone Coufal.. So I hope he can play on the left.
