West Ham fans react as club are linked with Djibril Sidibe
West Ham United fans have been reacting to reports of interest from their club in AS Monaco defender Djibril Sidibe.
, the Hammers are leading the chase for the French international defender, who won the World Cup in 2018.
Sidibe of course spent last season on loan with Everton, where he made 28 appearances in all competitions in 2019/20.

The star has emerged as a target for West Ham, with Monaco open to letting him leave on loan again – but the Principality club would want to include an option-to-buy for any potential suitor.
90min say Newcastle United and Wolverhampton Wanderers are also in the mix, although the Black Country club are now reported to be on the tail of Nelson Semedo of Barcelona ().
Having lost their first couple of Premier League matches, the need for defensive reinforcements is clear for West Ham.

Both right and left-back are areas of concern for David Moyes, and Sidibe is versatile enough to cover both positions, although he is naturally a right-back.
West Ham fans were not blown away by the links to Sidibe on social media, but most actually think he could be a decent addition for the club:
Please West Ham sign sidibe

Sidibe, whether West Ham fans want to admit it or not, is a more reliable option at either LB or RB than either Fredericks or Cresswell. Sidibe wasn’t good enough for Everton fans who are used to having long term, consistent fullbacks. Something West Ham haven’t had for years.

Would be a decent signing. I welcome any improvement on our current back 4!

If true, he’d actually be a good signing.

Decent addition that

Decent signing if we are carrying on playing wingbacks better than what we have just need a cb & left back and a striker

Would be decent. Didn’t realise Everton only had him on loan
