West Ham fans praise Aaron Cresswell despite Liverpool defeat

West Ham were beaten away to Liverpool on Saturday evening in the Premier League – and some of the club’s supporters on Twitter reacted by giving their defender Aaron Cresswell praise despite the loss.

The Hammers suffered a 2-1 defeat at Anfield against reigning league champions Liverpool, who secured the three points with a late winner in the 85th minute.

Pablo Fornals had put the visitors ahead early in the first-half, but Mohamed Salah’s penalty and Diogo Jota’s late strike earned the Merseyside giants a victory in the closing stages.

David Moyes’ side missed the chance to climb into the top half of the league table after the weekend’s result and will now prepare to face Fulham at home next Saturday in their last match before the international break.

A selection of West Ham supporters on social media felt that their left-footer Cresswell deserved a mention for his latest display, as he stuck to his defensive task well and got through the 90 minutes despite appearing to go down with an injury in the second-half.

The English left-back has been mainly used as a centre-back this season by Moyes as part of a back three and it’s a system that seems to suit him.
