West Ham fans must love Felipe Anderson despite being stung by Dimitri Payet
Felipe Anderson has immediately won over the fans at West Ham during pre-season. After a decent cameo against Aston Villa, he continued to shine in their latest friendly outing, scoring his first goal for the club in a 2-1 win against Ipswich Town.
The club’s new record signing is looking immediately like the type of player West Ham needed. The Hammers for the player earlier this month after weeks of negotiations.
Fans are already being drawn in by his enigmatic style. A wonderful dribbler with supreme vision and the potential to be lethal in front of goal, West Ham could have a cult hero on their hands.

The Hammers are used to such status with their best players. Mercurial stars that come with a warning sign. Carlos Tevez? Paolo Di Canio? Anderson is extremely similar to one of their most well known, Dimitri Payet.
Which is why West Ham must enjoy Anderson as much as possible while they can.
If he is too thrive, he needs to be loved. West Ham will give that to him. Unfortunately, if he does perform to the best of his ability his stay at the London Stadium may be short.
Eventually, if a success, a Champions League club will come calling and Anderson will likely have his head turned.
West Ham fans should, therefore, enjoy Anderson whilst they can and give him all the appreciation in the world. Do not be stung by Payet’s exit. The only way an enigma like Anderson will be a long-term West Ham star is if he cannot bring himself to say goodbye to the fans.
