West Ham fans excited by their defender’s Premier League stat
Aaron Cresswell holds the record for the most Premier League assists by a defender so far this season – and some of the West Ham fans on Twitter love the stat that has emerged about their man.
Cresswell, who earns £50,000-a-week (), has been an instrumental part of a Hammers team that are surprisingly in the thick of the race for the Champions League positions.
The 31-year-old left-back has been a mainstay in David Moyes’ XI and is defensively solid, plus he contributes a lot going forward.
He currently has seven Premier League assists under his belt already this season, with the most recent one coming in the victory against Leeds United in the previous game.
Cresswell tops the assist chart in terms of defenders, with his closest rivals Lucas Digne (six), Andy Robertson (five) and Luke Shaw (five).

A selection of West Ham supporters on social media have shown huge love towards their full-back for his current record.
There are some who feel he should be in line for a spot in the England squad, but he’s not been involved in the international fold since 2017.
He’s playing some of his best ever football right now at the London Stadium and his set-piece delivery is such a threat combined with West Ham’s aerial threats in the box.
Here are some Hammers fans discussing Cresswell:
