West Ham defender Arthur Masuaku has to start repaying faith

Arthur Masuaku has penned a new long-term deal at the London Stadium and he has to start repaying the faith shown in him by West Ham.

The Hammers confirmed on their that the defender has sign a contract that expires in 2024.

He was signed for £6million () back in 2016 and played 27 times across all competitions last season under Manuel Pellegrini.

West Ham have shown faith in him by handing him a contract extension and he needs to start off by cementing the left-back position in the new campaign.

Masuaku has had time adapting to English football and he needs to try make the 2019/20 campaign his best to date.

The 25-year-old should soon be entering the peak years of his career and a new deal suggests the club are firmly behind him.

He can be a real threat when he flies forward into attack with his pace and trickery, but there are still concerns about his game defensively and he has to sharpen up.

The Congo international has the athleticism and tools required to be top full-back in the Premier League, but needs to step up his consistency to nail down a starting position.
