Sky Sports Reporter: West Ham looking to sign ‘extraordinary’ £20m Scamacca partner who Leeds want

reporter, Dharmesh Sheth, has claimed that the Hammers could make a move for Blackburn Rovers ace, Ben Brereton-Diaz.

The Chilean international is thought to be a wanted man this summer, with Leeds among the clubs said to have declared their interest in the former Nottingham Forest ace. Brereton-Diaz scored 22 times for Rovers last season as he starred for the Lancashire club.

And according to, West Ham could look to bring in Brereton-Diaz on top of the signing of Italian striker, Gianluca Scamacca.

“We understand Blackburn Rovers forward Ben Brereton Diaz is one of a number of players West Ham are looking at this summer,” Sheth said.

“The Chile international has entered the final year of his contract at Ewood Park. The Championship side are thought to want around £15m for the 23-year-old.”

The Hammers are thought to be close to signing . The Italian is set to leave Sassuolo after an impressive year in Serie A and will give David Moyes that number nine he has been craving for a while.

Of course, adding just one striker might not be enough for the Scot, and he could well push for Brereton-Diaz as well.

TBR’s View: West Ham Can Make Both Scamacca And Brereton-Diaz Work

There is a risk in signing either player here for West Ham. With Scamacca, they’re going for a player who hasn’t done it in England yet and might take some time to settle.

With Brereton-Diaz, we’re talking about a striker who has done well in the Championship as a main man but until recently, hasn’t exactly lit up the world.

However, the Hammers could do with having depth in the squad and there is a way to make both Scamacca and Brereton-Diaz work. If Moyes can get both, then that would suit him just fine.
