West Ham can repeat Tomas Soucek trick by beating Tottenham to ‘brilliant’ star who can’t stop scoring

Since they signed Tomas Soucek in 2020, the Czechia international has gone on to make 216 appearances for West Ham, scoring 34 goals.

Soucek was an ever-present under David Moyes at West Ham, a player who made a big contribution to any success the Scottish manager achieved in east London.

However, under Julen Lopetegui, Soucek’s minutes have been slightly reduced, mostly because of Guido Rodriguez’s arrival.

West Ham are trying to head in a new direction, however they seem to achieve better results whenever Soucek is in the team, a player who always chips in with important goals.

That being said, West Ham now have an opportunity to continue their success of signing players from Czechia, the same path Vladimir Coufal has trodden.

West Ham need to beat Spurs to Czechia star Pavel Sulc

Daniel Kretinsky, who is the second-largest shareholder at West Ham, is likely very aware of one of the best new talents emerging in Czechia right now, Pavel Sulc.

The 23-year-old scored 18 goals in 29 games for Viktoria Plzen last season – incredible numbers considering he’s playing as a number 10.

Sulc now has six caps for his country, a player who both Soucek and Coufal may have already mentioned to those in charge at West Ham.

That being said, both Tottenham and Aston Villa are interested in Sulc, a player who is on the radar of several top clubs across Europe.

Given their precedent for signing the best talent from the Chance Liga, the free-scoring midfielder would appear as another obvious signing for the Hammers.

Sulc has continued to pile in the goals this season too, with five in 10 league games.

Julen Lopetegui might not be in charge to sign Pavel Sulc

Lopetegui does already have some exciting options in central areas – he’s barely turned to Carlos Soler as of yet.

But given the Spaniard is only on loan without an option or obligation to make it permanent according to reports, signing Sulc still seems more than viable.

Of course, some West Ham fans may be wondering if Lopetegui will even be the man in charge of green-lighting transfers next summer or perhaps even in January.

Lopetegui isn’t under immediate threat at West Ham, but perhaps that might change were the Hammers not able to follow up their win against Ipswich Town in their next few fixtures.
