West Ham are now looking at signing £4m Leeds United player

West Ham United want to bolster their attack.

There have been links to the likes of Jack Clarke and Steven Bergwijn as of late, and it clearly looks as though the Hammers want to bring in a new attacking option.

Speaking on the , Dean Jones has been discussing West Ham’s transfer plans, and he says that he’s also heard Wilfried Gnonto’s name mentioned as a potential target for West Ham United.

Gnonto a West Ham target

Jones shared what he knows about the man.

“I think West Ham need someone with more authority to go and immediately cut it in the Premier League, they’re in a strong position if they can find the right person to hit the ground running. Steven Bergwijn has been highly recommended to them, Wilfried Gnonto at Leeds is someone who has been mentioned, definitely explore that one because if Leeds are willing to let Gnonto go you will have a gem on your hands there,” Jones said.

Exciting

This is certainly a rumour to be excited about.

Gnonto hasn’t hit the heights at Leeds this season, but he looked absolutely electric in the Premier League last term.

He’s a fully-fledged Italy international, and there’s so much to like about this young man.

He’s got all the technical ability and talent in the world, and at the age of just 21, he has tons of room to improve as well.

Of course, he’s not the tallest or strongest player so that may work against him in terms of playing under David Moyes, but, at the same time, strength and height isn’t everything in football, especially when you’re as talented as Gnonto is.

This may be one to keep an eye on, and if West Ham do indeed make progress on this deal, there’s certainly reason to be excited.
