West Ham ace Samir Nasri admits he does not know where his future is

as saying that he does not know where his future lies, as his contract at West Ham United expires this summer.

The 31-year-old joined West Ham at the end of December after being a free agent following a short stint in Turkey with Antalyaspor. He is looking to get his career back on track.

The France international came on during the remaining 30 minutes of Saturday’s 4-3 win over Huddersfield Town. He supplied the assist for the first of Javier Hernandez’s brace, and changed the game.

He was only handed a short-term deal at the London Stadium but does have an option for another year. Goal quoted the ex-Arsenal and Manchester City star as saying that he is not sure if he will remain with the Hammers.

“I don’t know about my future,” “The most important thing for me was to come back, which I did in January. Then I got an injury because I wasn’t used to playing every week. I have been out of the game for so long.

“Now the manager takes his time with me. I have seven games left and I just want to play free of injury and then we will sit down and see what is next.”

TBR’s view

Nasri is capable of producing magic out of nothing – something which he proved against Huddersfield. The Hammers will want to see that on a consistent basis, though, if he is to earn an extension.

The Hammers hierarchy will want to see those wages justified on the pitch, and that means consistent performances of a very strong standard.

Right now, Nasri is not doing that but if he turns those magical glimpses into something more frequent, he has a chance of a new deal.
