West Brom fans react on Twitter to Marcos Alonso reports
A number of West Bromwich Albion fans have taken to Twitter to comment on concerning Marcos Alonso.
The Baggies were one of the busiest teams in the Premier League in January. Sam Allardyce brought in a number of new players as they look to drag themselves out of trouble.

However, it appears that West Brom were prepared to be even busier. , they were open to letting Kieran Gibbs leave amid interest from Inter Miami.
And the report has suggested that Marcos Alonso was one of the names on their radar if they had needed to replace Gibbs during the window.

Alonso was out of the fold during the latter stages of Frank Lampard’s tenure at Chelsea. But Thomas Tuchel’s arrival along with Gibbs staying put ended any chance of a move.
The links are intriguing. West Brom have already taken one Chelsea player on loan. And Conor Gallagher has arguably been one of the few success stories from this season for West Brom.
That would suggest therefore, that the Baggies may have been looking at a permanent move for Alonso.
However, West Brom have hardly been a big spender since sealing promotion. , Alonso earns £100,000-a-week at Stamford Bridge. So even for a low fee, he would not have come cheap.
There seems to be a mixture of disbelief and disappointment amongst West Brom fans on social media.
Some do not believe that West Brom had any chance of a move. Meanwhile, others clearly feel that he would have been an outstanding signing.
With that in mind, here is how some of the fans have reacted to the links…

Interesting report by The Athletic this morning, who claim that Albion were planning to bring in Marcos Alonso from Chelsea if Kieran Gibbs had joined Inter Miami.
