West Brom fans react as Liverpool reportedly open talks to sign £8m-rated star

West Brom have reportedly opened talks and enquired about Liverpool forward Taiwo Awoniyi, but face competition from Stoke and Mainz. The striker has just returned to Anfield having impressed in the Bundesliga with Union Berlin. West Brom fans have spoke about Liverpool star Awoniyi.

Awoniyi, 23, had a hand in nine goals during 22 appearances in all competitions for Union Berlin. It was his seventh loan spell in six seasons, having joined Liverpool back in the summer of 2015. He has impressed for the likes of Royal Mouscron, KAA Gent and Frankfurt on loan.

Now, Liverpool could sell permanently. He has two years left on his contract at Anfield, but is yet to make his senior debut for the Reds. It is claimed that West Brom, Stoke City and Mainz have all made an enquiry to sign the Nigeria-born ace. A report has claimed that Liverpool want £8million.

Clearly, Awoniyi needs to find himself a permanent home. He is beginning to show proper quality during his loan spells – scoring 21 goals in 47 for Mouscron and now showing plenty of goal threat in the Bundesliga. But is he worth £8million, and can he hack it at a club like West Brom?

Well, he is versatile, young, quick and as stated already, is hungry for goals. He has shown he can adapt quickly to new surroundings having played in Belgium, Germany and The Netherlands. West Brom fans have reacted on Twitter to the reports that their club want to sign Liverpool man Awoniyi.
