West Brom fans react as Branislav Ivanovic is reportedly close to signing
Former Chelsea defender Branislav Ivanovic is in talks with West Bromwich Albion over a return to the Premier League and Baggies supporters have been reacting on Twitter.
A deal to sign the 36-year-old could be completed in time for him to play against Leicester City on Sunday, with talks progressing between the parties .
The versatile enforcer enjoyed a trophy-laden period at Chelsea, winning three league titles, the Champions League and Europa League.
He is viewed as a legend in the eyes of many Blues supporters after a successful nine-year stint at Stamford Bridge.
Ivanovic is a free agent having been released by Zenit Saint Petersburg at the end of last season.
The Baggies won promotion last season having finished second behind champions Leeds United in the Championship.
Ivanovic’s experience could prove vital to Slaven Bilic as his relatively young side look to avoid an instant return back to the Championship.
His addition could prove to be a decent one, with the player knowing all about the demands of the Premier League.
