Wes Brown urges Manchester United to sign striker from Serie A
that Juventus striker Mario Mandzukic would be a good signing for Manchester United in the January transfer window, with the club yet to replace the loss of Romelu Lukaku.
United allowed Lukaku to leave the club – as well as Alexis Sanchez – with both players joining Antonio Conte’s Inter Milan. Since his move to Inter, Lukaku has netted nine goals in 13 league and cup appearances.
Meanwhile, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s have managed just 13 Premier League goals in 11 games and sit way down in tenth place. Marcus Rashford is being relied upon for goals but may have forgotten that the England star is still only 22.
Former Manchester United star Brown was asked if he felt that Juventus star Mandzukic would be a good signing, given the Croatian striker being repeatedly linked with a move to Old Trafford.

Yeah, probably,” , when asked if United should sign Mandzukic. “He’s big, strong, can hold the ball up. He would be a great addition and give some of the other lads a rest. Now and again you would be able to change tactics.
“He’s a quality player, we have seen it over the years and if that was to be, he would be a good addition. Like you have just said though, I don’t think it would be a long-term signing.”
TBR’s view – Landing Mandzukic would finally breathe sigh of relied
The pressure would not even be on Mandzukic to score on a regular basis. Chipping in with the odd assist and goal would not only boost United in terms of atatcking prowess, but it would also bring the best out of Rashford and Anthony Martial.
Both have been weighed down with the pressure of scoring regularly, but having an elder stesman in Mandzukic in the ranks, the pressure would ease off of Rashford and Martial – allowing them to play better.
For many reasons, then, 2012-13 Champions League winner Mandzukic would be an excellent signing for United.
