Liverpool fans are now seriously concerned with the news that Trent Alexander-Arnold is a doubt for their game against Manchester City at the weekend.

Potentially bad news

If Liverpool are without Alexander-Arnold it will be a major blow to their chances of success.

While James Milner is always a reliable deputy, he is ageing and his lack of pace could be exposed by the quality of City’s front-line.

Liverpool’s creativity will also be dented by the absence of Alexander-Arnold.

The 22-year-old is one of the Reds’ most potent weapons in the final third and without him their front-line could receive reduced service.

Liverpool actually go into the game ahead of City, but Pep Guardiola’s side’s recent victory over Chelsea has outlined their credentials to challenge for the title again this season.
