‘We’re hearing’: Sky reporter has update as Everton linked with new £30m+ signing

Everton have not yet advanced their interest in Burnley’s Dwight McNeil, Vinny O’Connor .
Everton on the hunt
Everton have been linked with the Burnley wide-man, as they look at making additions to their squad this summer.
However, it seems that the Toffees still have some way to go if they are to negotiate a transfer.
That is because Burnley want over £30 million for McNeil, which could prove problematic for Rafael Benitez’s side.
Everton are operating under financial constraints this summer, which means that they may struggle to meet Sean Dyche’s side’s asking price.
And it has been suggested by the Sky reporter that Everton could have to do a lot of haggling to get a deal sorted.

‘There’s going to be more of a fee involved in this one. Burnley would look to get £30 million plus for McNeil at the moment,” O’Connor said.
“Everton due to the financial constraints they are operating under due to the financial fair play rules, would want to pay somewhat less than that.
“What our understanding of the situation at the moment is, is that while there is interest from Everton there has not been contact between the two clubs.
“Certainly from the Burnley end, we’re hearing Everton have not been in for McNeil as yet.”
Wingers galore
Everton have already signed Andros Townsend with Demarai Gray also added to bolster their attacking ranks.
If McNeil was to join too, Benitez certainly wouldn’t be short of wide options for the upcoming season.
McNeil has caught the eye at Burnley with his dribbling skill and crossing ability.
And if Everton were to land him, Dominic Calvert-Lewin would surely be licking his lips and the sort of service that the youngster could provide.
