‘We’re hearing’: Journalist shares Eriksen transfer update amid Tottenham and Manchester United links

Tottenham Hotspur appear to have received a boost in their hopes of re-signing Christian Eriksen.

Spurs and Manchester United are reportedly in the race to snap up the Denmark international.

Tottenham boss Antonio Conte recently admitted he’d bring the 30-year-old back to N17 “for sure”.

Eriksen impressed for Brentford, registering four assists and one goal in 10 appearances last season.

His efforts helped Thomas Frank’s charges secure safety in the Premier League.

Eriksen has also capped off a remarkable comeback for Denmark, featuring in their last six matches.

The playmaker is out of contract this summer and is still mulling over his next move.

Earlier this week, The Athletic reported that Manchester United had made an offer to sign Eriksen.

Spurs, Brentford and Everton have reportedly made their move too, according to the .

“Fairly likely”

But now, ‘s Charlie Eccleshare has claimed that Eriksen wants to stay in London.

This would effectively make it a two-horse race between Tottenham and Brentford for his services.

Eccleshare responded to a fan, claiming the prospect of an Eriksen – Spurs reunion is “fairly likely”.

He continued: “As The Athletic reported earlier this week, Manchester United have made an offer to sign Eriksen.

“But we’re hearing that the midfielder would like to stay in London and that it’s a fight between re-signing with Brentford and rejoining Spurs.

“Antonio Conte has made no secret of his admiration for Eriksen, who he managed at Inter.

“And Tottenham have always felt confident about what they can offer their former player – especially now they’re back in the Champions League.

“As for Brentford, my colleague Jay Harris understands that manager Thomas Frank had a ‘good talk’ with Eriksen when they went out for dinner on Tuesday.

“The club had been hoping for an answer by now but Eriksen is understandably giving the decision due consideration.

“This is definitely one to keep an eye on in the coming days and weeks.”
