‘We’ll see him develop’: Gold says Conte is over the moon with 22-year-old Tottenham talent

Tottenham Hotspur boss Antonio Conte is “very pleased” with Spurs ace Ryan Sessegnon, according to Alasdair Gold.

The 22-year-old even spent most of the 2020-21 campaign out on loan, playing for German outfit Hoffenheim.

But this year, Sessegnon has finally made his breakthrough at Tottenham, and is now very much in Conte’s plans.

So far this term, the England Under-21 international has made six appearances in all competitions for Spurs.

And Gold is optimistic about Sessegnon’s future under Conte, as well as learning from Ivan Perisic.

“Yeah, we’re just thinking about injuries aren’t we? That’s the main thing with Sessegnon, steer clear of injuries.

“He’s gone off with the England U21s now, please, please don’t do anything there because he’s had a few problems with them in the past.

“The more confidence he has with getting minutes and not getting injured, we’ll see him develop.

“Conte is very pleased with him and who better a mentor to have than one of the best in the world in that position in Perisic?”
