Lionel Scaloni shares latest on Alexis Mac Allister’s injury as Liverpool wait for midfielder’s return
Liverpool are facing a nervous wait over the fitness of midfielder Alexis Mac Allister as they prepare to take on Nottingham Forest this weekend.
The Reds are waiting to see if Mac Allister is fit enough to play after the former Brighton man came off with a knock in the 3-0 win over Chile on Friday.
Mac Allister has been a key player for Liverpool ever since he signed and under Arne Slot, he already looks like being a regular.
However, the Liverpool fans are now waiting to see how Mac Allister is, with Argentina set to play against Colombia tomorrow.
And offering up some information on Mac Allister, Argentina manager Lionel Scaloni has answered the question on his fitness.

Scaloni shares Alexis Mac Allister injury update
before Argentina face Colombia tomorrow, Scaloni offered an update on both Mac Allister and fellow midfielder, Nico Gonzalez.
“The team is good. Replenishing a little the strength of the party the other day with some typical ailments of the party.
“Nico trained differentiated, Alexis did it with us. We will see how evolution is. We did not do a very demanding job,” Scaloni said.
Liverpool will hope Mac Allister doesn’t play
While no manager ever really wants their players to miss international football and miss out on caps, the Liverpool coaching staff will, deep down, be hoping Mac Allister misses out.
So early in the season, no team can afford to have injuries and when it’s a player as key as Alexis, it’s even more important.
Liverpool know that they’ll be favourites to beat Forest anyway but Arne Slot will want to have all his players available all the time as he looks to implement his ways.
Hopefully, this is all a bit of nothing for Mac Allister and he’ll be back fighting fit to make an appearance at Anfield this weekend.
