Aston Villa recently the signing of striker Wesley in a club record deal.

The 22-year-old arrives at Villa Park from Belgian side Club Brugge. He will also become the first Brazilian to represent the Villans. 

Wesley was in fine form last season. The young forward notched 10 goals and registered 9 assists in the Belgian top flight last time out. He is now ready to make the step up to the Premier League and will likely be tasked with leading the line for Dean Smith’s newly-promoted side.

Smith will need Wesley to adapt to English football quickly. If the Midlands outfit are to survive and thrive in the top flight then they’ll need Wesley to be in prolific form and firing on all cylinders from the off.

Wesley is a player with huge potential. This move marks a major step up in his progression. However, if he can successfully make the jump then the sky is the limit for the striker.

Villa fans ought to be very excited to see what Wesley has to offer. This looks to be a smart investment on Dean’s part. If Wesley is able to live up to his price tag then he’ll have a significant impact for his new club. On top of that, given his age and potential, Wesley arrives at Villa Park with plenty of future resale value.
