‘We understand’… Sky Sports have just dropped update about Celtic’s move for Layvin Kurzawa
With reports this morning suggesting that Celtic are interested in Paris Saint Germain left-back, surfacing the supporters will be delighted that the club seem to be making inroads in adding news faces to the team.
TBR Celtic told how Kurzawa was ‘being looked at‘ by Celtic and it seems that the highly decorated defender could fit the bill for Brendan Rodgers.
It seems that there is some substance to the rumour as Sky Sports journalist, Pien Meulensteen, just dropped an update that could affect Celtic’s pursuit of the French international defender.
Speaking live on , Meulensteen said, “We understand this could be a difficult deal to do.
“PSG are looking for a significant fee and would like the player’s wages covered as well.”
That would seem to put an end to Celtic’s interest as Kurzawa is on a reported and with the best will in the world, the Hoops simply cannot afford to match that.
Also if PSG are looking for a fee, the chances are it could be a significant one seeing as the French champions paid £19m for the fullback back in 2015.
With the transfer window clock ticking down, Celtic are running out of time to get those elusive quality signings that Brendan Rodgers has been craving.
With Nicholas Khun added and the announcement of Adam Idah imminent, the Celtic fans will be hoping there will be more progress on additions as the day goes one.
