‘We suffered’: Tuchel shares two things which impressed him about Arsenal in pre-season friendly

Thomas Tuchel admits that Arsenal’s ‘quality and speed’ caught his eye yesterday, on .
Quality and speed
Arsenal and Chelsea faced off at the Emirates Stadium in a friendly yesterday, with Tuchel’s side coming out on top.
Chelsea ran out 2-1 winners in the pre-season contest, with Arsenal unable to get a victory in front of their own supporters.
But Tuchel still says that the Gunners’ showing was a strong one, and he felt they performed well in moments.
“We suffered in some minutes against the quality and speed of Arsenal but they have already played four games this pre-season so that was normal,” Tuchel said.
“I was very happy with the performance in the first half and we won it deservedly because we could have scored a second or third goal. The second half was a bit wild where we conceded some big chances and also had some big chances, especially to go 2-0 up with Hakim [Ziyech].
“In the end, it was a good test because it was physically very demanding and we have a good result, which is always nice to keep the momentum going and have a good spirit.”
Gearing up

Arsenal did forge their openings in the contest, but ultimately they were architects of their own downfall.
A poor pass from Hector Bellerin allowed Tammy Abraham through on goal, and he duly dispatched to score the winner.
Arsenal will next be in action against Tottenham Hotspur in just under a week, and they will start to fall under real pressure if they fail to win again.
It is now less than two weeks until Arteta’s side start the season, with their first game coming against Brentford on Friday 13th August.
