‘We don’t lay a glove on him’: Dean Smith says three Arsenal players really hurt Norwich yesterday

Arsenal smashed five past Norwich City in the Premier League yesterday and Canaries boss Dean Smith was furious with his side’s defending.
The Gunners dominated the game from start to finish. It took Bukayo Saka only six minutes to open the scoring before Kieran Tierney doubled their lead just before the break.
Saka scored again in the second half before Alexandre Lacazette and Emile Smith Rowe pushed the score up to five.
Arsenal are now in a very comfortable position in the league but Norwich, after yesterday’s terrible defeat, are in more trouble than they already were. Here’s what Smith said after the game.
Dean Smith: We let Arsenal stars score soft goals
The Canaries boss said after the game, as per : “They’ve got a left-footer playing on the right (Saka) and we spoke about keeping him on the outside, same as (Gabriel) Martinelli on the other side, and we’ve allowed him to come inside and score two goals.”
“We’ve allowed Kieran Tierney to get on the outside of us and we don’t lay a glove on him. He runs from the halfway line, and we gave away two soft goals as well.
“There needs to be more drive. The players set the standards themselves in the first 4/5 games I had here, but the last two games have been way below that.
“Their decision making at the end of the day was much better than ours.”

TBR View:
Arsenal were fantastic yesterday but it has to be said that Norwich made it easy for them.
Saka and Tierney’s goals were easily avoidable in the first half, while the Canaries gave Martin Odegaard way too much space to run the game. Martinelli was fantastic as well and all three of them caused Norwich a lot of problems throughout their time on the pitch.
Mikel Arteta finally seems to have got a settled lineup. A front three of Martinelli, Alexandre Lacazette and Saka with Odegaard pulling the strings behind them has made Arsenal a very dangerous side. It will be interesting to see if they can maintain the same level until the end of the season.
