‘We are talking all the time’: Rafa Benitez says one Everton player is so eager to learn in training
Everton boss Rafa Benitez has provided an update on Toffees defender Ben Godfrey.
The 23-year-old joined the Blues in autumn 2020 and quickly became a fan favourite at Goodison Park.
Godfrey played 31 times last term following his October arrival and claimed the Everton Young Player of the Season award.

However, he was absent for the first four games of the 2021-22 season after testing positive for covid.
Godfrey missed the Premier League games against Southampton, Leeds and Brighton, plus the Carabao Cup win over Huddersfield.
Godfrey has since returned to the fold, featuring against Burnley, Aston Villa and Norwich in the league, plus the cup trip to QPR.
Benitez has admitted that Godfrey is still not at 100 percent.
He expects the versatile defender to progressively grow into the campaign as he increases his fitness levels.

Benitez also praised Godfrey’s attitude in training, saying the two speak all the time about how he can improve.
“He is getting better and, little-by-little, he will be better still,” the Spaniard told the Everton .
“His fitness is maybe 70 percent, he can improve a lot.
“In terms of his understanding and position and things he has to do, he is very keen to learn.
“We are talking all the time on the training ground, so he can improve, and I am sure he will do it.”
