“We are happy”… CEO now admits he feels delighted after offloading £26m player to Tottenham
Tottenham were busy in January as Ange Postecoglou welcomed Timo Werner, Lucas Bergvall and Radu Dragusin to north London.
The latter was signed from Genoa – with Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Andres Blazquez now commenting on the agreement with Spurs.
So, what was said about the Radu Dragusin deal? Let’s take a look…
What Blazquez thinks of Tottenham signing Dragusin
Well, Tottenham paid to bring the Romania international to north London.
Dragusin – who Ange Postecoglou spoke to four times before securing his signature – was a key player for Genoa, making appearances in Serie A this season, scoring two goals while also providing one assist.
Therefore, you would presume that Blazquez feels upset to lose the 22-year-old, although the CEO of Genoa is actually quite pleased with the transfer.

The Spaniard Tutto Mercato Web: “We could not do anything until we freed up some salaries or sold a player. We were forced to sell in order to do something. We evaluated the player who had the most important market, in a position where we were better off, was Dragusin.
“He received a very important offer on a personal level and we on a corporate level. We tried to get as much as possible for him knowing that his position was best covered. We are happy with this transfer, of course we will miss Radu both on a personal and on a sporting level, he is a great professional but it is also a prestige to sell to a club like Tottenham having also had offers from Bayern. That says a lot about the job Spurs has done.”
A rare occasion
It is not often that all parties emerge from transfer negotiations feeling satisfied, although that is the case here.

Tottenham have landed themselves a superb defender with plenty of time to get even better at the age of just 22, while Genoa have been fairly compensated for showing faith in Dragusin last year and helping him to fulfil his potential.
The Spurs No.6 is yet to make his first start under Postecoglou, so only time will tell if Tottenham get value for money.
