Wayne Rooney says he played with a midfielder at Man Utd who was up there with Cristiano Ronaldo for ability

Wayne Rooney played with some remarkable players during his career.

The former England captain worked with the likes of Harry Kane, Steven Gerrard and Frank Lampard at international level, while he worked with the likes of Robin van Persie, Carlos Tevez and Ryan Giggs at club level at Manchester United.

Speaking to , Rooney was asked to name the best ౠplay♌er he ever played with, and he gave an interesting answer.

Indeed, Rooney picked Cristiano Ronaldo as the best player he ever played with, but he did put Paul Scholes in th𓆉e conversation alongside the Portuguese superstar.

Paul Scholes up there with Cristiano Ronaldo

Rooney spoke about the best player h♍e ever worked with, naming Scholes and Ronaldo as the two best.

“The best player you ever played with?” Rooney was asked.

“I’d probably say on pure ability it’s Ronaldo, but then Scholesy🌟 as well, what Scholes brought to the team, 🎃but on ability it’s Ronaldo.”

There aren’t many players in the history of the game whoꦓ can come close to Ronaldo, and while Scholes was a fantastic foo🐭tballer, even he would have to admit that Ronaldo is another level to almost anyone who has ever played in the Premier League.

Ronaldo is the best playerಞ Rooney has ever worked with, and while Scholes may be second-best, it’s a distant second-place.
