Wayne Rooney makes Vincent Kompany claim after sending Tottenham plea
Tottenham fans are probably still trying to digest their weekend collapse against Brighton.
🌟On one hand, the international break will allow them to regroup and regain their focus, but on the other, you would prefer to be back out there and trying to put things right.
As Wayne Rooney pointed out, Tottenhamꦅ have done this for a ‘few games’ now and it has become a bad habit under Ange Postecoglou.
Tottenham did it against Leicester City𒁃 on the opening day, but their second-half performance at the Amex Stadium was far worse.
﷽Everyone knows about Postecoglou’s all-action style of play and how he refuses to change, no matter what.
💛It has become a trending topic in modern football, where managers, regardless of their club status, refuse to budge on their philosophy or way of playing.
🥂Southampton manager Russell Martin is a prime example💎, with the newly-promoted side winless and still sticking to their principles of playing out from the back.
Vincent Kompanyꦇ did that at Burnley last season, it ended up with the Clarets getting relegated, yet he still ended up with the Bayern Munich gig.
Rooney has claimed that Postecoglou is similar to Kompany♈, in the sense that they won’t change and they will stick to their ways, as he told .
🍬But the Plymouth manager has pleaded for Postecoglou to change and how ‘you have to’, at times, perhaps sit back, rather than still look for more goals.
Wayne Rooney urges Ange Postecoglou to adapt at Tottenham
♔“But they have done that a few games Tottenham where they have gone a bit in the second half,” said Rooney. “You maybe try to hold onto that a little bit. In the second half of games, they have folded a little bit, just stick in there.
꧑“The way he (Postecoglou) is, Vincent Kompany was the same. He wants to play in a certain way and then you’re not picking up results.
ꦿ“But I think Ange as well, sometimes, they are winning 2-0, just come in a little bit, try to be harder to score against, to be harder to give chances up and they maybe come away and win that game. You have to adapt. You have to change. If you are 2-0 down at half-time, you know Brighton are going to come out with something different. They have to! You have to be ready for that. You have to adapt. You have to be ready to change and you might go back to a back five towards the end of the game if you are winning.”

Ange Postecoglou won’t change his style
🃏Perhaps Tottenham have a mentality issue rather than looking at the manager’s tactics or style of play.
𝐆Daniel Levy knew what he was getting when he first appointed Postecoglou, so he shouldn’t expect the former Celtic manager to change, anytime soon.

🗹At the end of the day, it’s all about what comes at the end of the road from Mauricio Pochettino to Antonio Conte, they all failed, for one reason or another, to deliver that much-craved trophy.
Many put the blame at Levy’s doorstep🔯 and how things won’t change until he is gone, but for now, they have to wait and see how all of this pans out.
