They have successfully negotiated the Brazilian market previously and are clearly keen to tap into it once more.
Richarlison is a massive Watford success story in terms of proving a good business deal.
Prior to the 2017/18 campaign, the Hornets paid just £11.2 million, to sign the forward and he would contribute five goals and two assists.
Just a year later, the 21-year-old was signed by Everton for a staggering £50 million, , with Silva keen for a reunion with the player he managed at Vicarage Road.
Gustavo’s valuation is already at £40 million.
With Watford holding serious ambition, however, they could be tempted to pounce.
Gustavo would represent a risk but then so did Richarlison.
Watford won’t attract the world’s best players but they might unearth another Brazilian gem in the form of Gustavo.
