Watford’s Abdoulaye Doucoure would represent smart business by Arsenal

Watford defeated Fulham 4-1 on Tuesday evening to maintain their challenge for European qualification this season.

The Hornets have been in fine form this season, proving one of the surprise packages of the campaign.

Javi Gracia is the man at the helm and he has got the very best out of a squad that had been in decline.

One player who has been in sensational form this season is Abdoulaye Doucoure.

Fortunately for Gracia, the club kept hold of the powerhouse.

Doucoure made it two scoring Premier League games on the spin on Tuesday when he notched against Fulham.

His form of late will surely have teams vying for his signature again in the summer.

One club who should be interested in Doucoure’s services is Arsenal.

The Gunners are crying out for a bit of steel in the middle of the park. In truth, the club has never really replaced Patrick Vieira and he departed in 2005!

The 26-year-old will probably prove out of Arsenal’s price range, but if they qualified for the Champions League that could change.

Doucoure’s pass success rate is up at 84.4% for the season, whilst he also has six assists to his name,

Arsenal boss Unai Emery should be prepared to rival whichever European giants go in search of Doucoure this summer.
