Watford fans react as Abdoulaye Doucoure shines against Bournemouth

Watford roared to another three points yesterday, this time against Bournemouth who were on the wrong end of a 3-0 defeat.

Nigel Pearson has revived the Hornets since arriving and they are now outside the relegation zone.

Yesterday’s win came courtesy of strikes from Abdoulaye Doucoure, Troy Deeney and Roberto Pereyra.

It was Watford’s third win on the trot and a fourth in six games since Pearson replaced Quique Sanchez Flores at the helm.

The ex-Leicester boss has called upon his league expertise to reignite Watford, with Premier League survival now a real possibility.

The driving force behind yesterday’s win was the scorer of the first goal, Doucoure. He later created an assist for Deeney to score and was a menace throughout.

Pearson has occasionally utilised the Frenchman in a more advanced role just behind a striker. That was the case yesterday and it paid dividends.

The 27-year-old has played over 100 times for the Hornets since arriving in 2016 from Rennes.

He has also spent time on loan with Granada in La Liga but is now a first-team regular at Vicarage Road.

The £70,000-a-week ace took to Twitter after yesterday’s game and supporters were quick to congratulate him on a fine performance.
