‘Warrior’, ‘Good to see’: Some Rangers fans react to two Gerrard calls in lineup for Celtic clash

Rangers fans have reacted with delight to the news that James Tavernier has been named among the substitutes for today’s Scottish Cup fourth round tie against Celtic at Ibrox.

Captain Tavernier has been out injured since going off in February’s 4-3 Europa League win against Royal Antwerp.

Nathan Patterson keeps his place at right-back.

Scott Arfield, meanwhile, returns to Steven Gerrard’s .

Rangers are unbeaten in three matches against their rivals so far this season.

Gerrard’s men laid down a marker in the first meeting between the two sides, putting in a dominant performance at Celtic Park in October as a Connor Goldson double gave them a 2-0 victory.

Celtic were on top for most of the opening hour at Ibrox in January, but a Nir Bitton red card changed the complexion of the game and a Callum McGregor own goal 20 minutes from time made the difference.

Interim manager John Kennedy had hopes of securing a first win over Rangers this season when Moi Elyounoussi put the home side in front at Celtic Park last month, but Alfredo Morelos finally broke his duck to secure a 1-1 draw.
