Wales fans react as Tottenham star Ben Davies pulls out of national squad

Ben Davies has been forced to pull out of Wales squad to face Czech Republic and Estonia this month – and Tottenham fans have reacted.

Davies, 28, has only been afforded five games for Spurs this season – only one of which has come in the Premier League under Nuno Espirito Santo.

The chance to go and get some game time in a Wales shirt will have been good for both Spurs and Davies – but he has been forced to pull out.

Nuno had spoken before the international break about Davies, stating that appendix inflammation had ruled him out of the win over Aston Villa.

It looks as if the same issue has prevented him featuring in the two World Cup qualifiers – with Wales preparing to face Czech Republic and Estonia.

What are Wales fans saying as Tottenham star Davies pulls out?

For Wales, it is a huge blow. Rob Page’s side sit in a good position for World Cup qualification in Group E. They are level on points with Czech Republic.

Wales are in third with the Czech Republic in second. Both are on seven, nine behind Belgium who are on 16 from six games.

Wales, though, have only played four games. A win over Estonia and a draw with Czech Republic would really bolster their chances of qualifying.

But losing Davies is an enormous blow for Wales. The defender is one of the core of the group – boasting 67 caps already at just 28.

Wales fans are gutted to have lost Tottenham’s £60k-a-week () left-back. Many are now doubting their chances without him.
