Vultures will soon circle if Leeds United do not give Pontus Jansson what he wants
Pontus Jansson has his magic hat back. The Leeds United defender, by his own high standards, had a poor season last term. The Swedish international just never looked settled as Leeds struggled to build on Garry Monk’s good work from the previous season.
In that first term at Leeds, he was sensational. Uncompromising, outspoken, a goal threat and an instant fan favourite he was a hero.
Now, with Leeds under the guidance of Marcelo Bielsa, the defender is looking near back to his best. His performance v Brentford this weekend was outstanding and he topped it off by scoring the equaliser with a trademark header.
The foul-mouthed, no-nonsense Jansson is back, which does bring with it some problems for Leeds.

Keeping hold of Jansson will be tough if he keeps up this form.
Back in his best Leeds days plenty of Premier League teams were keen on the player. the likes of Chelsea, Liverpool, Tottenham Hotspur, and Southampton were all prepared to pay £10 million for the player back in the spring of 2017.
He remained at Leeds but, eventually, he needs to be playing Premier League football.
This season would seemingly be Leeds’ last chance of keeping Jansson. If they can maintain their current form and forge a promotion push, then Jansson will no doubt stick around into the Premier League.
If not, those teams are going to come knocking yet again.
