Virgil van Dijk shares what has really impressed him about Liverpool teammate Dominik Szoboszlai
Liverpool now have one hand on the Premier League trophy in wake of what happened in the Premier League on Wednesday night.
Arne Slot’s Reds ran out 2-0 winners over Newcastle United, while title rivals Arsenal could only draw 0-0 at Nottingham Forest.
Liverpool’s victory, combined with Arsenal’s draw, has seen the Reds go 13 points clear at the top of the Premier League table.
Dominik Szoboszlai, fresh from a superb display in the weekend win over Manchester City, was key for the Reds once again.
The Hungary international scored against Newcastle, another goal to his tally along with his goal and assist against the Citizens at the weekend.
And Virgil van Dijk has now shared what has really impressed him about Szoboszlai in wake of his recent heroics.

Van Dijk, speaking after the Newcastle game, described Szoboszlai as a “fantastic player” and said he’s so happy for him.
The Liverpool captain commented on his teammate’s energy, sprinting, pressing and on-the-ball prowess, along with the hard work he’s been putting in.
“Everyone has to try to contribute to scoring goals,” Van Dijk told the Liverpool .
“I’m very pleased for Dom for all his hard work that he puts in each and every game to be rewarded with goals and to be as important as he has been, especially in the last two games with the goals.
“I think the quality that Dom brings, the energy with the sprinting, the pressing and obviously on the ball he is a fantastic player.
“I’m very happy for him that in the last two games he scored two important goals. You just have to keep going and stay calm.”
Arne Slot also praised Szoboszlai post-match, saying he has the running capabilities of two players.

Szoboszlai is quickly making a name for himself as one of the best midfielders in the Premier League and, by extension, the world.

Along with opening the scoring, Szoboszlai won the ball back time and time again, linked up well with his teammates, and contributed massively in attack and in defence.
Crucially, Szoboszlai never stopped running. Despite looking like he was spent after the Man City game, he didn’t looked fatigued in the slightest during and after the Newcastle game.
Indeed, some Liverpool fans deemed Szoboszlai’s latest display his best in a Reds shirt.
