Villa reportedly want American star that David Wagner made bid prediction about
Weston McKennie is reportedly hoping that Premier League duo Aston Villa and Southampton are considering a move to bring him to England – and David Wagner’s comments about the United States star will excite supporters.
McKennie, 21, has starred for Wagner’s Schalke once again during 2019-20 – clocking up 91 senior appearances for the Bundesliga side. He has a contract at Schalke until the summer of 2024.
say that McKennie is hoping for a move to the Premier League and has asked if either Villa or Southampton have made an offer for him. Both clubs are said to be interested.
that Schalke rate the USA star in the region of £22.5million and both Villa and Saints fans will be excited at Wagner’s claim – saying that McKennie can be one of the best midfielders in Germany.
“He’s an outstanding talent. In the No.6 or No.8 position he has the mentality, a real working mentality that you need. And he’s brave on the ball as well. He can be one of the best midfielders in the Bundesliga.”

TBR’s view – McKennie would be a stunning signing
But which club needs him more? Villa could do with beefing up the middle of the park, especially if Douglas Luiz leaves. A return to Manchester City – after just one season – is on the cards.
Southampton, though, need the USA ace more than Villa. That is because they have lost Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg to Tottenham Hotspur, and need a combative midfielder to replace him. McKennie is ideal.
