Brazil named their squad for the World Cup yesterday and they look really strong.
The likes of Neymar, Vinicius Jr, Gabriel Jesus and Richarlison have all been called up, which makes them one of the most dangerous sides in the entire competition.
Neymar is guaranteed to start for Brazil in Qatar. The one player who will be competing with him for a place in the side is young Martinelli, who has just three senior caps.
As Tite announced the Brazil squad live on TV yesterday, Neymar recorded himself. When his manager named Gabriel Jesus, he smiled and gave what looked like a nod of approval.
However, when Martinelli’s name was called out, the PSG superstar’s eyebrows went up, almost as if he wasn’t expecting to see the Arsenal youngster make the squad.

It really does seem like Neymar was surprised to see Martinelli in the squad, but the Arsenal man completely deserves his call-up.
The 21-year-old, branded as a ‘special’ talent by Rio Ferdinand on , has been absolutely phenomenal for the Gunners this season. He has five goals in the Premier League so far and is one of the biggest reasons why Mikel Arteta’s side are on top of the table.
Brazil’s incredible attacking options mean Martinelli is extremely unlikely to start a game in Qatar. However, his pace and aggressive style of play make him a very good option off the bench, especially when Tite’s men are chasing a game.
It will be interesting to see how Martinelli will fare if he gets a chance at the World Cup. If he shines there as well, his stock will go up even further.
