Video: Everton prodigy turns into ‘prime Roberto Carlos’ in latest Under-23s appearance
A number of Everton fans have waxed lyrical about Thierry Small’s latest performance for the Toffees Under-23s.
The 16-year-old has been making a name for himself in recent months with some superb displays for David Unsworth’s side as well as a history-making senior debut.
Small became Everton’s youngest ever player in January this year when he came on as a sub in the Blues’ FA Cup fourth-round victory over Sheffield Wednesday at Goodison Park.

This season, the left-back has made 19 appearances, scoring six goals – three in the Under-18 Premier League and three in the Premier League 2.
Although Small didn’t get on the scoresheet in Friday night’s PL2 loss at Chelsea, he delivered a superb assist for Rhys Hughes on the stroke of half time.
Small made his way into the box, got the better of his marker, and from the byline, cut the ball back for his teammate to apply the finish from point-blank range.
Everton’s Twitter account shared a clip of the goal including the build-up:

Needless to say, the Toffees fans loved it:

Everton put in a brave performance against Chelsea and were especially bright in the second half, hitting the bar and forcing two smart saves from keeper Karlo Ziger when well-placed.
However, two goals for Thierno Ballo gave the Londoners victory.
