Video: £17m attacker scores brilliant goal in friendly, just days after Spurs reportedly bid for him
Tottenham Hotspur have been linked with a move for Barcelona’s Memphis Depay in recent days and the forward yesterday.
On Monday, Sport claimed that Spurs had made an offer for Depay and that Barca are asking for £17 million for the Dutch international.
But just one year left on his deal, the report claims that Conte’s team are not prepared to pay more than £14.5 million for the 28-year-old.
Well, that stance may have changed after seeing the goal he scored while on friendly duty yesterday.

Depay scores brilliant goal for Barcelona
The Dutch forward played for the La Liga club in a pre-season clash against MLS outfit Inter Miami yesterday.
And for Xavi’s side, amid rumours that Tottenham are watching him.
Depay took the ball under control in the penalty area and performed an amazing piece of skill to outwit the defender, before smashing the ball into the bottom corner.
The Netherlands man signed for Barca last summer on a free transfer after an impressive Euros campaign. And despite bagging 13 goals in 38 games for the La Liga giants last season, he looks like he could be heading towards the exit door as he enters the final year of his contract.
The Catalan club have added Robert Lewandowski and Raphinha to Xavi’s squad so far this summer, while also extending Ousmane Dembele’s contract. So it looks like Depay could be facing an uphill battle to get back in his manager’s plans.
With Conte apparently keen on bringing Depay to North London, Spurs could see this as an ideal opportunity to bolster their frontline even further after signing Richarlison from Everton recently.
But whether the Barca man wants to make the switch remains to be seen, with Sport reporting that Depay is not keen on joining Tottenham this summer.

TBR’s View: Spurs don’t need Depay after signing Richarlison
There’s no doubt that Depay would have been a good signing for Spurs if they hadn’t already picked up Richarlison. While they’ll be keen to give Antonio Conte plenty of options, he’s a very similar profile to the former Everton man.
Both players predominantly play off the left or as a striker, and Richarlison will already act as cover for Heung-Min Son and Harry Kane at Spurs.
Depay has only played 17 games as a right-winger throughout his whole career so he also may not be the best option to compete with Dejan Kulusevski.
