Victor Osimhen has picked which club he wants to join after links with both Arsenal and Chelsea

Arsenal have been on the lookout for a new striker this summer following a slightly underwhelming 2023/24 from their current options.

Having missed out on the Premier League title by a mere two points, Arsenal must be left feeling a top class striker would have seen them over the line.

Gabriel Jesus was only able to return four goals across the entire Premier League campaign with Eddie Nketiah also failing to impress.

Mikel Arteta is currently set to go into Arsenal’s Premier League opener against Wolves with the same front line as he ended last season with.

However, Arsenal have been monitoring the Nigeria international Victor Osimhen as he looks for a move away from Napoli.

Victor Osimhen has decided whether he wants to join Arsenal

Osimhen is now said to be pushing to leave Napoli this summer with Arsenal having been linked throughout the summer window.

But it seems as if a move for the Nigerian may not be quite straightforward due to his high wage demands.

Sky Sports Germany reporter Florian Plettenberg has now claimed the striker has made his decision as to what team he would like to join this summer.

It is now believed Osimhen would be keen to make the move to Paris Saint-Germain this summer instead of the Premier League.

Chelsea have been in talks with Napoli this week over a potential deal involving Romelu Lukaku going the other way.

Arsenal are said to have made a loose approach for Osimhen as they eye reinforcement up top.

But it seems the Nigerian is now looking to make the move to the French capital rather than the English capital over the final weeks of the summer.

Arsenal must bring in a new striker this summer

The margins were so fine at the top of the table last season that Arsenal could very easily swing the balance in their favour this season by being more clinical.

However, that could be boosted massively by bringing in a new striker who could offer them a solid 15+ goals in the Premier League.

Clearly, Jesus is not that player with the Brazilian having failed to have netted more than 11 goals in a season since joining Arsenal.

The Gunners need a reliable striker who can lead their line and take on the burden in front of goal if they want to take a grip on the title race.

Goals have now been an issue for Arsenal as a team, but Arteta is relying heavily on his players to make up for the goals lost through not having a clinical striker.
