Victor Lindelof now looks like a player Everton should have signed
Swedish defender Victor Lindelof has certainly had a difficult career at Manchester United. He struggled for form following his move from Benfica last season. It led some to question whether he was good enough to be a feature at Old Trafford. In the summer, it led to him being linked with a move away from the club.
Lindelof was linked with a number of potential moves, including a switch to Everton.
Marco Silva was a fan of Lindelof from his time in Portugal. They suggested Everton would have to pay £35 million to bring him in. That seemed a lot for a player who had struggled in his debut Premier League season.

In the end, Everton looked elsewhere with Yerry Mina and Kurt Zouma arriving with varied success.
At the start of the campaign, not many an Everton fan would have questioned that decision. Lindelof was again struggling for his best form and Everton fans probably felt they did not miss out.
However, his recent form has been sensational. Lindelof has played a key role in United’s revival under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, featuring in all six of their Premier League wins in a row.
The Swede finally appears happy and is living up to the expectations had of him in 2017.
Everton might now wish they had pursued that initial interest.
