‘Very special’: Declan Rice blown away by Toni Kroos against Liverpool
Liverpool were put to the sword by Real Madrid last night and an onlooking Declan Rice was clearly impressed by what he saw from Toni Kroos in midfield.
While Rice might be the up and comer in terms of midfield dominance, Kroos has been the head of the snake for a number of years now, winning countless trophies with Madrid.

His partnership with Luka Modric makes Madrid tick, and the German was in fine fettle last night against the Reds. He notched two fine assists, while he essentially ran the game with ease in the middle of the park.
And Rice, who was clearly watching the game at home, took to to laud the performance of Kroos.
Watching Toni Kroos is very special.

Rice is being tipped for a potential move to the one of the so-called ‘big boys’ this summer. However, West Ham could well qualify for the Champions League themselves.
Indeed, in what was something of a backtrack on his previous comments, Talksport pundit and former Spurs midfielder, Jamie O’Hara, to Rice, insisting he could play for the Spanish giants.
You could play for them

TBR View: Rice is class, but Madrid is a different level entirely
Declan Rice can play for any team in England. He’s proven that already and there is no doubt if the Hammers don’t snatch the top four, big teams will come sniffing.
But Madrid is an entirely different ball game. Not only is the pressure enormous, but Rice would need to adapt to a new country, language, and way of life completely over in Spain.
So while O’Hara makes a fair comment here, Rice probably still has a way to go yet.
