‘Very soon’: Mikel Arteta predicts ‘unselfish’ player is going to score for Arsenal in their next few games

Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta believes Alexandre Lacazette will score and end his goal drought very soon.
The Gunners parted ways with Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang earlier this month after his fall-out with Arteta. The captaincy was handed over to Lacazette, who also has to make up for the goals that the Gabon star would’ve scored if he was still at the Emirates.
That has been a problem for the Frenchman this season. Lacazette has scored just three goals in the Premier League this term, which is a shocking return for a striker.
However, his manager believes it’s only a matter of time he scores again as he’s doing everything right.
Mikel Arteta: Alexandre Lacazette will score for Arsenal very soon
Arteta said about the 30-year-old, as per : “[Lacazette] knows as a striker what is demanded of him, and that is to be involved in goals and the chance creation of the team.
“He is doing a lot of things right in attack, and out of possession as well. He needs to continue to do that.
“The ball will go in the net very soon. He has been unlucky because he has had the chances to score, as well, some goals in the last few weeks.
“He needs to continue to do that, to generate those chances for his team-mates, to be in front of goal in the positions we ask him to be in. The goals will come.”

TBR View:
Lacazette’s role in Arteta’s setup requires him to drop deep and link play up with the players around him.
That limits his forward runs during most parts of the game and that is one of the biggest reasons why he hasn’t scored as many goals as he would’ve liked this season.
However, the good thing for the Frenchman is that he’s still finding himself in goalscoring areas. He missed a sitter against Wolves last week and that could’ve easily cost Arsenal.
Lacazette, , will be looking to set that right tonight when Arsenal face the Wanderers again, and if Arteta’s prediction comes true, the 30-year-old will get his name on the score sheet.
