‘Very pacy and very strong’: BBC pundit wowed by Leeds player’s international display last night
Leeds United fans were able to get a glimpse of summer signing Wilfried Gnonto in international action on Friday night.
The Elland Road newcomer is already a regular for Italy, having won five caps for the Azzurri.
Gnonto’s latest cap came on Friday night, as he came off the bench to help Italy to a 1-0 win over England.

The Whites talent replaced West Ham’s Gianluca Scamacca in the 63rd minute of the Nations League match in Milan.
Gnonto was involved within minutes, Harry Kane having to block his effort from an Italy corner.
The 18-year-old was a thorn in England’s side on several occasions after coming on.
This prompted BBC Sport pundit Matt Upson to praise the Leeds gem’s qualities.
“Wilfried Gnonto is quite an impact player. Very pacy and very strong,” he said on .
“He’s done really well – won the ball back and knows what exactly what he was doing.”
Gnonto is yet to make his debut for Leeds – it looks as though he was signed as a player for the future.

Nonetheless, Jesse Marsch and the Elland Road coaching staff will no doubt have enjoyed seeing him in action against England.
Gnonto has shown that he already has what it takes to play against – and get the better of – England’s finest.
So perhaps his competitive Leeds debut may not be too far away.
