‘Very good stuff’: Kostas Tsimikas says he’s been really impressed by Liverpool’s £6.5m player in training

Liverpool defender Kostas Tsimikas has been really impressed with Calvin Ramsay in training.

Unfortunately, Ramsay missed much of pre-season with an injury, and is only returning to full fitness now.

However, Ramsay’s now back in training and already impressing his teammates, including Tsimikas.

“Yes, of course (Ramsay can provide competition). First of all, he’s a good lad.

“When he came to the team, even when he was injured, we spent some time together and I tried to help him.

“I think he will help the team now he’s fully fit.

“In training, he did some very good stuff, and why not, when you are a good player, you can challenge the guy in front of you.

“I think he’s going to be good competition.”

Tsimikas already impressed with Ramsay

The Scottish defender has some fierce competition at Anfield, with Trent Alexander-Arnold occupying the right-back spot.

Alexander-Arnold has been one of the most spoken about players this season.

His defensive abilities have been under severe scrutiny, as has his potential spot in Gareth Southgate’s England squad.

Gary Neville believes that Alexander-Arnold might need to pick up some tips from teammate Andy Robertson.

The media weren’t happy with his latest performance against Brighton, as the Reds dropped even more Premier League points.

Klopp will be glad to have Ramsay back available soon to give him the opportunity to rest Alexander-Arnold.

If Liverpool’s manager has been as impressed as Tsimikas has been with Ramsay in training, we could be seeing the Scot very soon.
