‘Very good’… Fabrizio Romano says Arsenal think they’ve found a midfielder who could be ‘special’

Arsenal are seemingly in the market for a new midfieder.

The Gunners have been linked with the likes of Douglas Luiz and Joao Palhinha as of late, but according to Fabrizio Romano, there’s another midfielder the Gunners are looking at.

Indeed, according to Romano, speaking on , Martin Zubimendi is a player that Arsenal are keen on, stating that the Gunners, along with Bayern Munich and Barcelona genuinely think that the Spanish midfielder could go on to become a special player.

Arsenal think Zubimendi could be special

Romano shared what he knows about the midfielder.

“On Zubimendi as we say. The appreciation for Zubimendi is from Bayern, from Barcelona, Xavi is a big fan, Arsenal also like Zubimendi. All of these clubs believe that Zubimendi is a very good player and is going to be a special player, it’s not easy to find a player in that position,” Romano said.

Exciting

It’s exciting to hear that Arsenal have a midfielder on their radar who they rate this highly, but this deal won’t be easy to do.

Indeed, as Romano says, both Barcelona and Bayern Munich are also keen on Zubimendi, making Arsenal’s life that much more difficult, while a January move won’t be simple either.

Let’s not forget, Zubimendi plays for Real Sociedad, and he absolutely loves the club.

There’s a huge element of Basque pride for a local lad playing for Sociedad, and after topping their Champions League group, the midfielder may think that something special is possible this season with his club.

A move to a bigger club could well be on the horizon for Zubimendi, but it’s hard to imagine that a move away from San Sebastian in January is on the cards for this young man.

Zubimendi is certainly a player to keep an eye on heading into the next transfer window.
